To be present
By David Berger

The most important tip I would offer is; to be present!

To be present and in the moment has been a challenge for man ever since his feet hit the earth.   The second they hit the questions began and this created a confounding confusion for man.  The questions and multiple scenarios started; do I run, stand, jump or walk?  What would happen if I combined two or more at one time, what would happen if………?  This was and is the birth of the multi-tasker.  This is what kills our connection to our clarity, or our higher self.

Human nature by nature seems to be burdened with the dis/ease of multi-tasking.  Nature for all intents and purposes is shackle free of this behemoth.  Nature’s nature is to be present.  Take a sloth for example; a sloth doesn’t think “OMG what happens when all these leaves are gone from this tree and my hunger isn’t satiated?” It also doesn’t yell out “In the name of the great gods and goddesses of the mighty eucalyptus tree what will I do now?”  Could you possibly visualize a sloth jumping down out of the tree in which it is feasting, start pacing, cursing, scratchin’ and bawling it’s head off  because it projected it’s thoughts into the future? I think not.  Look at that possible scenario and you can see how ridiculous we look.  The sloth on the other hand is happy sitting there munchin’, chompin’ and masticating the leaves it delicately stuffs into its mouth into oblivion.  With much delight if that is possible the sloth is amazed by its own ability to remain present.

Being present is very simple, albeit not easy.  Being present is being mindful and being mindful in the task at hand is being in a meditative state.    Many use meditation to center themselves and become less stressed.  How much less stressed could one be if they are 100% percent present in what they are doing?  Being present in the task at hand is the foundation for deeper meditative practices.  Once this foundation has been laid and established and perfected then one would be able to move into deeper meditations of more self awareness.  In achieving this we become more achieved while present in our physical form.  In being present and grounded in all our bodies at that moment we are free of projection.  In being free of projection we are free of fear.

Use those phenomenal skills of multitasking to multi-task yourself into the present moment.  Once again I hear all the voices saying I know that and we all know that, but how do we do it?  Glad you asked, once again it is simple to do but a challenge to master. The components of being present are as follows;

Focus on the task at hand.

Focus on your breathing and all your movements.

Do everything as; quietly, neatly, gently and as lovingly as humanly possible.

Once again when this is achieved, self achievement is more attainable.
